LC City Council allows alcohol sales Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve fall on Sundays this year, but customers can still buy alcohol at Lake Charles retail businesses those days because of a recent city council ordinance.

During its meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 20, the Lake Charles City Council adopted an ordinance that allows the sale of alcohol by retail permit holders between the hours of 10 a.m. Sunday through 12:01 a.m. Monday on Christmas Eve (Sunday, Dec. 24) and New Year's Eve (Sunday, Dec. 31) for December 2017 only, said Matt Young, City of Lake Charles spokesman.
