The Lake Charles Police Department is in the holiday spirit. With the help of an anonymous donor and southern bicycle company, officers were able to give away free bicycles.

The bikes went to families who've faced difficulties within the past year. Deputy Chief Mark Kraus says it was a way to interact with the community in a positive way.

Along with bicycles officers also handed out toys to the families with small children.
