The New Orleans Pelicans erased an eight-point deficit in the final quarter to walk away with a 131-124 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Sunday's game at the Smoothie King Center.
The Pelicans were led by Jrue Holiday who dropped 34 points to go along with five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Anthony Davis recorded 29 points, eight rebounds and five blocks while DeMarcus Cousins poured in 29 points and nine rebounds. Rajon Rondo had 13 points and 18 assists. With E'Twaun Moore's 14 points, all five Pelicans starters notched double-digit points.
LSU-product Ben Simmons led the Sixers, recording a double-double with 27 points and 10 assists, while J.J. Redick tallied 28 points.
The Pelicans return to action Monday, on the road against the Houston Rockets. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from the Toyota Center.
