SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

A Lake Charles man is accused of unauthorized credit card transactions and forging checks that belong to a local judge, authorities said.

According to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman  Kim Myers, Judge Patricia Minaldi filed a complaint on March 14, regarding Justin W. Gray, 28, a former acquaintance. The investigation revealed between March 10, 2016 and January 8, 2017, Gray forged checks and made charges on three credit cards in excess of $64,000.

On April 13, a warrant was issued for Gray and he turned himself into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, Myers said. He was arrested and charged with three counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and 41 counts of forgery. Gray’s $56,000 bond was set by Judge Michael Canaday.

Det. John Melton was the lead investigator in this case.
