LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A woman entered a Lake Street bar early Saturday morning armed with what appeared to be a "long rifle" and stole the tip jar off the counter, authorities said.

The woman first demanded money before grabbing the tip jar off the counter and fleeing in a Buick LeSabre, said Deputy Chief Mark Kraus, Lake Charles Police Department spokesman.

The incident happened at Linda's Lounge, at 4338 Lake Street.

Keeshala Demetra Jacobs, 39, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery. She is being held on $100,000 bond.

Kraus said officers responded to a call of a robbery at 5:50 a.m., March 18. Officers still at the location of the robbery were notified that Jacobs had been involved in a crash near La. 14. It was also learned that Jacobs had taken her roommate’s vehicle and bank access card prior to the robbery.
