Reports: Butler to visit Saints, in contract talks

New England Patriots defensive back Malcolm Butler will visit the Saints on Thursday, according to Brett Martel of the Associated Press.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Saints and Butler are in contract negotiations and hope to have a deal by the end of the week.

Butler has played three seasons in New England. In 43 games, the DB has totaled 118 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and six interceptions.

Butler is best known for his interception against Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson in Super Bowl XLIX, clinching the victory for the Pats.

The report comes out the same day the Saints agreed to terms with outside linebacker Alex Okafor of Arizona.
