If you love offense, then you came to the right place in the Saints-Rams matchup. The two combined for 70 points in the contest, with the Saints getting the better of the Rams 49-21.
Drew Brees accounted for four touchdown passes through the air, and one on the ground, to decimate the Rams defense coached by Greg Williams. Brees threw two touchdown passes to Michael Thomas, one to Brandon Coleman, and one to Mark Ingram. He finished with 310 yards passing, and a 1-yard touchdown run.
Willie Snead also threw a touchdown pass for the Saints, connecting with Tim Hightower on a 50-yard score.
The fireworks started early with Rams quarterback Jared Goff registering his first NFL touchdown pass. His 24-yard connection with Tavon Austin made it 7-0 Rams. Goff would double his NFL touchdown pass output in the second quarter with a 6-yard score to Kenny Britt. With 55 seconds left before half Goff added a third, finding Lance Kendricks for a 15-yard touchdown.
Goff and the Rams were held scoreless in the second half.
