TRAFFIC: Manchester Road and canal bridge closed for repairs

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

The Clerk of Court Office says a lot of calls are coming in about Manchester Road precincts and the road being out.

DOTD says the bridge will be out until Thursday, Nov. 17 for repairs.

Voters in Ward 8, Fire District #2, in precincts 861 East and 861 West, which are on Manchester Road are asked to take alternate routes.

Traffic is being detoured via Joe Spears Road or Canal Road, both of which lead to Manchester Road.

    The West Calcasieu Solid Waste Center will reopen Saturday, Nov. 18, according to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. The center, located at 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur, has been closed around a month for construction.

    The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of Alex Spurgeon, 23, of Lacamp.

    Spurgeon's family members filed a missing persons report on Nov. 15, in which they indicated they have not seen nor spoken with Alex since late October, according to Rhonda Jordan, VPSO spokeswoman.
