LAKE ARTHUR, LA (KPLC) - Juneteenth will be held June 20 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
The event commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S. This year's theme is "Remembering the Broken Chains."
is hosting the event, which will feature a barbecue cook-off, live music, group dancing, children's activities and more.
Admission is $10. Children ages 7 and under get in free.
