Mardi Gras parades roll in Sulphur & Vinton

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7 News at Six.

Fat Tuesday may be more than a week away, but the good times have already started to roll in Southwest Louisiana. We'll take you to parades in Sulphur and Vinton.

Plus, it's easy to get lost in the fun of the season. However, law enforcement is warning drivers they'll be out in full force over the next week and a half targeting impaired drivers during Mardi Gras.

Also, they're known for their gourmet hot dogs, but today Botsky's was serving up delicious King Cakes to help out a local non-profit.

And, locals turned out to get some sweet deals at Hobo Hotel's 5th Annual Sweet Art Auction. All proceeds help the no-kill cat shelter continue to operate.

Not a bad way to start off our weekend. Meteorologist Zack Fradella says tomorrow will look even better.

We'll see you tonight at Six for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
