LA tourism, state tax prep tips, alert for two missing people

Good Tuesday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*Give your input about tourism in Southwest Louisiana. We'll tell you about an event this morning at the Lake Charles Civic Center with Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne that is open to anyone wanting to talk about economic development and infrastructure improvement in our area.

*The beginning of Louisiana's state individual income tax filing is fast approaching.  Don't miss our live interview this morning that will give you tips on how to get a fast refund and avoid filing errors.

*The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office has an alert out on two people who have not been seen since Christmas.  See the pictures of the two adults for yourself and find out how you can help locate them.

*The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear arguments about Louisiana's ban on same sex marriage.  Find out why they will not review it and what's next for those fighting for marriage equality.

*The wind chill this morning has us feeling like it's in the 30s this morning.  Meteorologist Ben Terry tells us the weather will stay cloudy today with a slight chance of showers the next couple of days, but the sun will return this week!

Make it a Sunrise day!

A few scattered showers this afternoonA few scattered showers this afternoon

We will start today with partly cloudy skies, building up for scattered thunderstorms later this afternoon. Rain chances are up to 40% today, so we should not see as much rain as yesterday. Most of the rain will come to an end by the late afternoon. After sunset, rain chances will go back down to zero percent overnight with mostly clear skies. In between any showers, we will have warm temperatures for southwest Louisiana.
