Frigid day in store, schools open, live interview from Salvation Army shelter

Good Thursday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*It is a frigid morning across Southwest Louisiana with temperatures feeling like they are in the teens.  Meteorologist Ben Terry is tracking this weather system that will keep near freezing temperatures around for the majority of the day.  He's also looking at the possibility of precipitation tomorrow that could create a minor issue with ice.

*Our newsroom has fielded lots of questions about school closures today due to the cold temperatures.  We will keep you posted throughout the morning about any closures, but at this point all schools across Southwest Louisiana are in session today.

*There is shelter available for people who need to escape the cold.  Major David Craddock with the Salvation Army will join us live to talk about the shelter that is available and how you can help keep others safe and warm during cold snaps.

*This morning's cold weather could hinder clean-up of two Lake Charles house fires from last night.  Find out what sparked the fire in one home that spread to the neighbor's home.

Make it a Sunrise day!
