Good Wednesday morning to you! Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:
*This morning House Majority Whip and Louisiana Representative Steve Scalise will appear before reporters. It is the first time the media will have access to the Republican leader since it was revealed that he addressed a white supremacist group back in 2002. Some are calling for his resignation, but Scalise is defending his role.
*The Lake Charles City Council is set to talk about several key issues at this evening's regular meeting. Topping the agenda is an ordinance regarding basketball goals and other athletic equipment on city streets. We'll also tell you about an item related to pay for police officers.
*Get ready to protect your plants, pipes, and pets. Meteorologist Ben Terry says we are in store for the coldest weather in one year within the next 24 hours. Find out when we will start to see the temperatures drop and how extensive the freeze could be in Southwest Louisiana.
*It's not too late to enroll in spring classes at SOWELA. We will have a live interview this morning with Dedria Walton to preview the orientation this Saturday and the steps to take if you want to participate.
