It was a jazz concert with a cause.
Jazz in the Arts in a non-profit in Southwest Louisiana. It hosted its end of the year fundraiser Sunday evening. The goal of the organization is to educate and promote jazz in the community for youth.
"Music is an educational foundation for children regardless," said Feature Jazz Performer, Erica Papillion-Posey. "I think we take for granted the importance and significance of music in all of our lives."
And as the community enjoyed the show, every penny went towards music education.
"The funds that we raise goes towards all the education and scholarships and also for the workshop we give once a year," said Organizer Pat Daigle.
Organizers also said while music is fun, it offers much more.
"Music helps with the maths and sciences in addition to creativity and someone using ones imagination so it's super important," said Pappillion-Posey.
