The State Bond Commission has approved $439 million for projects statewide and saved taxpayers more than $22 million, according to State Treasurer John Kennedy.
Among the projects was $24 million in revenue refunding bonds for Calcasieu Parish and $2 million in limited tax bonds for Beauregard Parish.
"We continue to find interest savings for taxpayers. This month, we saved taxpayers more than $22 million," Kennedy said. "We also approved borrowing that will expand a hospital campus, build a police station and improve a courthouse."
The $2 million in limited tax bonds for the Beauregard Police Jury is for "constructing, expanding, improving and renovating the Beauregard Parish Courthouse."
The revenue refunding bonds are for the Louisiana Community Development Authority's City of Lake Charles project and will save taxpayers $1.2 million.
