Sunrise crew heads to Jeff Davis Parish for This is Home tour

Good Wednesday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on a special edition of 7News Sunrise:

*Today is the final installment of our live "This is Home" tour as we broadcast from each of the parishes we serve.  Today, John and I are heading to Jeff Davis Parish where we will bring you the 6:00-7:00 hour of Sunrise from the I-10 Oil and Gas Park in Jennings.  We would love to have you come out and be a part of the live broadcast!

*We will be interviewing our friends with the Jeff Davis Parish Tourism Commission about festivals and crawfish tours.  If coffee sounds good this morning, you don't want to miss our interview with the owner of Java Joltz!

*Back in the studio, KPLC's Charlie Haldeman will bring you up to speed on today's top stories, including: high early voting numbers for midterm elections in Southwest Louisiana, the latest information on a body found off Derek Drive in Lake Charles and a preview of tonight's Senate debate with Mary Landrieu, Bill Cassidy and Rob Maness here on KPLC.

*Meteorologist Ben Terry says there is a lot to pay attention to with our forecast today.  We are under a dense fog advisory until 9:00 A.M. and our rain chances are on the rise as we move into the afternoon hours.  The cold front he's been tracking will reach us late today, with the coldest air here in time for the weekend.

Make it a Sunrise day!

Overnight, we will have clouds clear and will become mostly clear. Temperatures will slowly fall to the mid 70s. It will feel very warm due to the humidity. Heat indices will be in the 80s, throughout the night. Monday, the day of the eclipse, there is just a 30% chance of rain, so we will most likely have a few clouds during the time of the eclipse. There could be a few showers around the peak of the eclipse, but more likely, at least some clouds.
