State education leaders plan Ebola protocol

 Good Friday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*Education leaders in Louisiana are taking steps to make sure public schools have accurate information about the Ebola virus.  We'll tell you about their plan to send out a news letter next week that will provide school districts with a list of Ebola symptoms and what should trigger precautionary measures.

*A Lafayette man is arrested for attempted second degree murder following a crash on the Atchafalaya Basin bridge Thursday afternoon.  Find out about the bizarre series of events that led to shots being fired on the bridge, two vehicles crashing and a police pursuit.

*A national group ranks Louisiana among the leaders in the battle against human trafficking.  Hear how the rankings are set and where the state falls when it comes to providing help to victims.

*From homecoming parades in Westlake and Sulphur to the Beauregard Parish fair, Up for Downs, the Nutty 5K and McNeese State University football game - it's a busy weekend and we'll have your events rundown!

*Meteorologist Ben Terry will tell us how long the rain will stick around today and when we will see a big drop in temperatures.

    A judge in state district court has denied a motion for a continuance for Kevin Daigle's first-degree murder trial. Daigle is facing the death penalty if convicted in the shooting death of Louisiana State Trooper Steven Vincent. Daigle's defense team asked for the continuance after his lead attorney, David Price, died on July 27. Daigle is set for trial on Sept. 18.
