DeQuincy man accused in stabbing

Good Evening,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for Nightcast.

A DeQuincy man is accused in a stabbing. Although the victim's injuries were non-life threatening, the suspect is now charged with attempted second degree murder. We'll have details.

Plus, it's usually described as a quiet community, but a series of recent burglaries and thefts in the Holmwood area has a concerned resident speaking out tonight. KPLC's Monica Grimaldo has this story.

It was a wet start to our Labor Day weekend. Meteorologist Zack Fradella has the forecast and a look at the work week ahead.

Also, after suffering cardiac arrest on the baseball field, the prognosis for a Kinder teen wasn't good. A year later, KPLC's Erika Ferrando shows you how he's not only getting better but beating the odds.

And, Dolby Elementary's community garden is getting national recognition. As KPLC's Haley Rush tells us, it's not only educating students but also being used as a tool to fight childhood obesity.

Nothing like waiting until the 4th quarter. LSU makes a dramatic comeback in last night's season opener. KPLC's Rebecca Cade is on the Sports desk tonight and will have highlights.

We'll see you tonight at Ten. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
