(KLTV) - A joint investigation between the Tyler Police Department and the FBI has led to an arrest of a suspect in the August 11 Capital One Bank robbery.

The suspect has been identified as Daniel River Burson, 37, of McKinney. Burson was employed by Capital One Bank as a corporate security consultant investigator.

Police say a tipster who had seen Burson driving a dark-colored Mercedes Benz led them to the suspect.

Burson was arrested Monday afternoon. Burson was arraigned in federal court on Tuesday in Tyler. He could face up to 20 years in federal prison and a $50,000 fine for bank robbery charges.

On August 11 at 7:52 a.m. Tyler police received a 911 call about a robbery from an employee of the Capital One Bank, located at Copeland and Loop 323.

The bank employee said she and another female employee were walking back towards the drive-thru building door when they were approached by a white male suspect telling them to drop the black night deposit bag. The suspect then grabbed the bag and fled in a dark Mercedes Benz, sedan with no license plates.

“They were on their way back into the main building and as they were walking down the sidewalk they were approached by the suspect,” said Don Martin, Public Information Officer, Tyler Police Department.

The women told police the man was wearing a business suit and tie and was about 6 feet tall with a thin build. The women never saw a gun, but noticed something chrome colored in his hand
