Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

The public is being asked to comment on plans to feed natural gas to Magnolia L.N.G.'s Lake Charles plant. We'll explain what's going on at noon, and you can read more about it HERE.

There will be a short period of time tonight when the EBT system will be down, and anyone trying to make a transaction will get a declined response. We'll tell you when that is and how long it will last.

Lots of teenagers are struggling to get out of bed in the morning to make it to class. However, a new study has a recommendation for middle and high schools that may make things easier if adopted.

Also today, Texas neighbors gather after an Army veteran gets evicted. We'll show you how they rallied to help him move and keep a roof over his head.

Plus, an unusual pursuit on a southern California freeway – it wasn't police chasing a stolen vehicle – instead, rush hour drivers were trying to save a wayward dog.

Ben tells me we can expect the clouds to increase and scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. It looks as though we'll have a better rain chance over the next few days, which should limit those temperatures. Will this pattern take us through the week? Tune in at noon for Ben's live, local forecast for the answer. You can also check out the latest weather conditions HERE.

Remember, if you're away from the TV at noon you can always tune in to kplctv.com to watch us online and your mobile device.

Have a great day everyone!

Theaters around the country including right here in Lake Charles are selling out for the movie Black panther.  But for many in the community they got a chance to see the movie for free, thanks to one Lake Charles native.  The mall food court was packed Saturday.  As a large group enjoyed their tea, lemonade, pizza and boudin, but the mall food court wasn't their final stop. Dry weather expected for SundayDry weather expected for Sunday

Tonight, the showers will start to wind down. There should not be much rain left after midnight. Clouds will linger overnight. It will still be a muggy night, with temperatures not cooling down very much. I’m forecasting a low of 59 degrees, but it may not cool down that far overnight. By Sunday, the same front that stalled over us, will begin to weaken. Therefore, I do not think there will be many showers around. I’m keeping a 20% for a little bit of drizzle overnight.

It's been more than five years in the making, but Saturday Captain Daniel Johannes Goos now stands over the lakefront in Lake Charles.  Crowds of people gathered by the Lakefront Promenade this morning all waiting to see the the statue of Captain Daniel Johannes Goos.  "When you mention Captain Daniel Goos you may get he sounds familiar or if you're lucky you get oh like Goosport," said descendant Erik Jessen.
