BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Hundreds of people gathered at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church for the funeral of, 7-year old, Terrez Coleman. Detectives said Coleman was shot during a drive-by shooting Saturday August 16th, 2014.

A sense of sorrow filled the air as people wiped their tears and said their final goodbyes. Terrez's aunt, LeKisha Coleman, said a week later the reality is slowly sinking in.

"To know that we will never be able to see him again,"said Coleman. "I will never be able to hear him say 'T.T.' again. It's just a little hard."

But there was also a feeling of joy. Coleman said even at a young age you can tell by the amount of people who attended the service, that Terrez touched many lives.

"At the young age of seven, he impacted so many lives something's us grown folks haven't done,"said Coleman.

Several faces of Baton Rouge were there sharing words of motivation to the family, including Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie, and Baton Rouge Mayor Melvin "Kip" Holden.

"We are going to have to learn how to get along better together," said Holden. "This is a senseless death, and the majority of Baton Rouge even though they can't be here their hearts are with this family. And they're saying enough is enough and today was expressed very accurately."

Police said if you know anything to help the investigation please contact Crime-Stoppers at 344-Stop.
