Three men are facing charges for filling an RTA rapid train with smoke as it carried passengers.

It happened a couple of weeks ago between the West 98th Street and West 65th Street stops.

Video obtained by 19 Action News shows three men getting off a train. Before the last guy gets off, he stops and appears to light something. It falls to the floor, the man gets off, and moments later the train car fills with smoke.

Records show the man dropped a smoke generator used in fire training drills. Police later found the men in Tower City. Charge papers say the men also switched clothes during the ride and even shot pepper spray down an aisle.

The train had to be taken out of service.

Felony charges have been filed against Sean Smith, Anthony Hall and Ryan Wright.

The case is heading to a grand jury.
