TRAFFIC: US 171 southbound at Calcasieu River Bridge reopens

As of 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, the crash has been cleared and all lanes of traffic are open.

Drivers were urged to avoid US 171 southbound at the Calcasieu River Bridge late Thursday morning following a single vehicle crash. A second crash involving two other vehicles was caused due to people "gawking" at the first crash, according to James Anderson of the State Police.

    Ethyn Evans is going to be getting plenty of air miles on his tuba next year.  He starts the new year off marching in the U.S. Army's All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Later trips in 2018 include Carnegie Hall and Sydney Australia. For him , it's the second trip to Carnegie. "It was absolutely amazing," remembers Evans.
