Letter-signing events across SWLA support Ft. Polk

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -
Efforts continue in a letter-writing campaign to show support for maintaining troop numbers at Fort Polk.
The City of Lake Charles and the Mayor's Armed Forces Commission held a signing event at the Lake Charles Civic Center on August 16.
The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce will host a community-wide letter-signing day on August 19. Local businesses in Alexandria, Pineville and Rapides Parish will have stations set up. Participating organizations include Red River Bank, Capital One Bank, Mid-South Bank, Southern Heritage Bank, Regions Bank, H&H Appliances, Alexandria City Hall, Pineville City Hall and the Alexandria International Airport.
The City of DeRidder will host a letter-signing event at the Amerisafe Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. on August 20. DeRidder residents may also drop off letters at the DeRidder City Hall during regular business hours until August 25.
The City of Leesville, the Mayor's Women's Commission and the Vernon Parish Police Jury will hold a letter signing on August 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. in the parking lot of the First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville.
The Vernon Parish Tourism Commission will host a separate event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 22, and the Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce will host an event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 22 at Market Basket.
The Mayor's Youth Council and Jobs for America's Graduates will host a letter-signing event from 4-6 p.m. on August 22 at Walmart in Leesville.
