Sulphur PD releases July activity report

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - The Sulphur Police Department has received 2,568 calls during the month of July, according to a news release from Sulphur Police Chief Lewis Coats.

Of those calls, 24 involved burglaries, 21 involved thefts from vehicles, 58 involved thefts, and 79 involved crashes. Officers with the Sulphur Police Department made 100 arrests during the month f ofuly.

Coats reminds residents to keep their vehicles locked, as 80 percent of vehicles investigated by his department in the past year were related to unlocked vehicles.

Coats asks that residents park in well-lit areas, remove valuables from vehicles or hide valuables left in vehicles and always lock your doors.
