BEAUREGARD PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A 51-year-old Longville man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the 2013 death of his wife.

Randal Langley Sr. entered the plea Aug. 8 and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Authorities said Langley shot his wife Sherry Langley, 44, twice during an argument at their home on Oct. 13, 2013.

Randall Langley fled the scene but was involved in a single-vehicle accident near Neale Oilfield Road in Merryville.

He was arrested and indicted on a second-degree murder charge and pleaded not guilty by reason on insanity.

Sherry Langley, 44, was an employee at South Beauregard Upper Elementary School.
