McNeese Training Camp - Tight Ends

This is another position where the Cowboys lost a starter in Nic Jacobs, who left school early to enter the NFL Draft and was signed as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints. McNeese signed  Deondre Skinner in the summer, a 6-3, 247 freshman from Patterson who inked with Houston out of high school, and then Tulane, but never enrolled at either. Skinner will compete for the starting spot with returning sophomore Zach Hetrick, who has been named to the Southland Conference preseason first team. Hetrick is talented in both the blocking schemes as well as running routes and should give McNeese an added weapon on offense. Also in the mix will be senior Kendale Thomas, who caught six passes for 73 yards last season.

"As long as we get the ball of course we'll be happy. No matter whose hand it's coming out of. We're excited. We have two, three guys competing. Competition is always good for a football team." - Zach Hetrick
