LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

City police have identified a suspect in a Sunday shooting in the 1300 block of St. Mary Drive in Lake Charles.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Malcolm Jamar Zenon, 23, is wanted in connection with the incident that left an 18-year-old man injured.

Authorities said the victim was shot multiple times with a small caliber firearm. He was treated and released from a local hospital.

Zenon, 5-foot-8 and 155 pounds, is facing charges of second-degree aggravated battery and illegal use of a dangerous weapon or instrumentalities. Bond has been set at $350,000.

"Zenon (has been) described as a street person, even though he has family living in the Lake Charles area," Kraus said Friday in a news release.

Anyone with information on Zenon is asked to contact Det. Colby Thompson or Sgt. Franklin Fondel at 337-491-1311.
