TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

A Terrebonne Parish woman has been arrested, accused of raping a young boy she used to babysit.

Officers say that 23-year-old Denise Lapeyrouse, of Dulac, was arrested on aggravated rape charges.

Investigators say that Lapeyrouse had multiple sexual encounters with the victim when he was between 11-13 and she was between the ages of 17-19.

Officers say that Lapeyrouse was the victim's babysitter at the time. The victim only recently reported the incident.

Detectives questioned Lapeyrouse and say she admitted to the inappropriate sexual acts. She was subsequently arrested for one count of aggravated rape.

She was jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where she awaits a bond hearing.
