Shreveport pastor rallies against "Black Jesus"

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Cable TV's Cartoon Network, is creating controversy over its late night show that will air during the stations "Adult Swim" hours. It's called "Black Jesus."

Shreveport's Bishop Larry Brandon is the Senior Pastor of Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church. He is stepping forward calling the show a degrading and disrespectful depiction of Jesus Christ.

He's holding a news conference Monday morning. The conference will be at Praise Temple at 10:30 a.m. at 4725 Greenwood Road.

Incumbent Mary Morris and Ron Richard were the top two finishers (out of five) in the March 25 election. The race entered a runoff because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes.
