TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

In just its second day on the rails, the Tucson Modern Streetcar had 25,000 passengers on Saturday, according to the City of Tucson.

The streetcar had an estimated 17,000 riders on Friday as the public was allowed to ride for the first time. With free rides being offered all weekend, the streetcar remained packed through its first two days and was busy once again on Sunday.

On Monday, a one-way ride will cost $1.50, the same as a bus fare. Riders can also purchase a 24-hour day pass for $4 and a month pass for $42.

Stay tuned to Tucson News Now for the latest on the streetcar.
