Lake Charles man charged with theft

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs deputies were dispatched to a Lake Charles home on June 13 to investigate a burglary. 

When they arrived, deputies spoke to a male victim. He told then that when he returned home, he found that his shop had been burglarized. Several items were stolen, including firearms and power tools. The stolen items were valued at over $1,000. 

The victim also told deputies that he had recently allowed 41-year-old Shannon E. Primeaux of Lake Charles to live in his shop.

According to detective two of the stolen power tools had been brought to a local pawn shop by Primeaux. The tools were recovered and returned to the victim.

Primeaux was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He has been charged with simple burglary and theft. 

Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $4,000.
