Lafayette police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in a Friday morning bank robbery.

At approximately 9 a.m., a black male wearing a long black wig, white blouse and floral skirt entered a bank in the 1000 block of Johnston Street in Lafayette. The suspect approached the teller and handed her a note demanding money, authorities said.

The suspect exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area, according to a news release. No injuries were reported.

Video surveillance from inside the bank captured pictures of the suspect, and detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
