Authorities investigating early morning shooting in Lake Charles

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

City police are investigating an early morning shooting in the 2300 block of 11th Street in Lake Charles.

Sgt. Richard Harrell, spokesman for Lake Charles Police, said a 24-year-old man was found shot.

Harrell said the man was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

"The investigation revealed that the victim was approached from behind when he was shot," Harrell said.

Harrell said the investigation is ongoing and authorities are looking for information on the Friday morning shooting and the Wednesday night shooting in the 2200 block of 10th Street that left two injured. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact Detective Willie Fontenot, Detective Dustin Gaudet or Sgt. Lecia McCullough at 337-491-1338.
