NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Several people were injured in a four-vehicle wreck involving a school bus that occurred on University Drive in Nacogdoches Wednesday morning.

Patrolman Lee Smith with the Nacogdoches Police Department said the accident occurred when a box truck for Houston Avocado failed to yield the right of way when it was turning right onto University Drive from E. College Street.

A Lubbock ISD school bus that had been traveling south on University Drive slammed into the box truck, tearing its rear cargo area off. The force of the collision pushed the box truck into both the north- and south-bound lanes on University Drive.

A pickup was struck, and a passenger car was flipped.

Smith said there were no children or other passengers on the school bus. Several people were taken to the hospital for observation.

A gym full of Orchids brightened up the Church of the Good Shepard today.  The Calcasieu Orchid Society held it's first ever show, free to the public.  There were displays, as well as orchids and artwork to buy, even a competition for cut arrangements and just general beauty. Judges from all over the country came to judge the competition and organizers say it was a huge success.  Copyright 2017 KPLC. All rights reserved.  More >>
