Flash Flood Warning in effect - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Flash Flood Warning in effect for Jefferson, Orleans and St. Bernard parishes

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish and St. Bernard Parish through 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Between 1-2 inches of rain is possible. Heavy showers and storms are currently rolling in throughout the FOX 8 viewing area.

Some heavy downpours can be expected. Thursday looks much the same with the upper low weakening and an upper high building in for Friday.

This will decrease rain chances by the end of the week and this weekend looks relatively dry.

Another upper trough may force a late July cold front into the region by the middle of next week.

In the tropics, the only area of focus is east of the Lesser Antilles and Tropical Depression 2.

It has not strengthened beyond that, nor is it anticipated to. Official forecast is for the depression to dissipate by tomorrow afternoon. Elsewhere, no development is expected.
