DAYTONA BEACH, FL (WBTV) -

Police say a Daytona Beach father beat an 18-year-old man unconscious after finding the teen sexually abusing his son.

The victim's father reportedly called 911 early Friday morning after he walked in on the alleged abuse. When officers arrived they found 18-year-old Raymond Frolander, who they say was lying motionless on the living room floor.

He had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth.

The father, who was not identified by police, told investigators that he walked in as Frolander was abusing the boy and "took physical action towards [Frolander] to prevent him from leaving the scene before police could arrive."

"He stood up and his pants were around his ankles and nothing else needed to be said," the father told the dispatcher. "I did whatever I got a right to do except I didn't kill him."

He added, "You are damn lucky boy that I love my God."

Frolander was then taken to an area hospital and treated for his injuries before being released into police custody.

"Dad was acting like a dad. I don't see anything we should charge the dad with," Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood said. "You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times."

According to the report, Frolander admitted to sexually abusing the child and ended his interview with police by saying, "I'm guilty."

Police did not release the boy's age, but Frolander is charged with sexual battery on a child under 12.

Investigators say the assaults have been occurring since the victim was eight-years-old.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Some warm and dry weather through Monday, before more rain on Tuesday

Dry weather expected for SundayDry weather expected for Sunday

Tonight, the showers will start to wind down. There should not be much rain left after midnight. Clouds will linger overnight. It will still be a muggy night, with temperatures not cooling down very much. I’m forecasting a low of 59 degrees, but it may not cool down that far overnight. By Sunday, the same front that stalled over us, will begin to weaken. Therefore, I do not think there will be many showers around. I’m keeping a 20% for a little bit of drizzle overnight.
