Jared Foster to rejoin LSU Football

LSU outfielder Jared Foster is returning to the football field for the Tigers in the fall as a quarterback, as confirmed by football head coach Les Miles and baseball head coach Paul Maineri.

The Lake Charles native was a member of the 2011 LSU team that won the SEC Championship and made it to the National Title game. The decision to return to the football field is in light of LSU having only two quarterbacks on scholarship on the roster (Brandon Harris and Anthony Jennings.)

Mainieri says he backs Foster's decision 100 percent, and says Foster has the option to redshirt from the baseball team this year and return in 2016 if he would like. The former Barbe standout has two years of eligibility with the football Tigers.
