LOUISIANA (KPLC) - The Louisiana State Police honored several Troopers, public safety personnel and civilians across the state in a Thursday ceremony in Baton Rouge. Award recipients were recognized for "bravery, dedication and exceptional work ethic" demonstrated over the past year.

Award recipients are as follows:

Medal of Valor, awarded for knowingly risking one's life in the line of duty: Sgt. George Beck (Troop G), Sgt. Trey Bellue (Troop A), Sgt. Brandon Poe (BOI), Sgt. Robert Lummus (CIU ISS), M/T William Blackwell (CIU ISS), TFC Philip "Yancy" Hanks (Troop I).

Lifesaving Award, awarded for any act that saved or sustained another person's life: Sgt. Larry Badeaux (Troop C), Sgt. David Krammer (CCC), Officer Christopher Fletcher (CCC), Officer Timothy Magee (CCC), TFC Trent Hanks (Troop I), Cpl. Mike Boddye (Acadia SO), Sgt. Tracy Morgan (Gaming), Pilot James Landreneau (Crisis Response), M/T Philip Tagliarino, S/T Thurman Miller (Troop E), John Fanning (civilian), Scoot Quinlain (civilian).

Service Injury Ribbon, awarded to an individual who suffered significant injuries through no fault of their own in the line of duty: TFC Jesse Brown (BOI).

Uniformed Trooper of the Year, awarded to an individual who has demonstrated unusual ability in performing his/her duties both on and off the job: TFC Kevin Cefalu (Troop L).

Plainclothes Trooper of the Year, awarded to an individual who has demonstrated unusual ability in performing his/her duties both on and off the job: TFC Rohn Bordelon.

Department of Public Safety Officer of the Year Award, awarded to an individual who has demonstrated unusual ability in performing his/her duties both on and off the job: Officer Grant Broussard.

Richard Honeycutt Award, awarded to a communications officer for outstanding service and dedication: Comm. Officer 3 Jaudawn Navarre.

Meritorious Service Award, awarded for performance that exceeds the normal expectations of duty and demonstrates an exceptional degree of good judgment, initiative and competence: Sgt.
