COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

The toxicology report on the Cobb County child who died as a result of being left in a hot car came back negative, according to the Cobb County Police Department.

A negative toxicology report means that there was nothing in the child's system that would have contributed to his death.

The department said that although the report is complete, it will not be released until the entire investigation is complete.

The Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office completed an autopsy June 19 and concluded the cause of 22-month-old Cooper Harris' death was hyperthermia, a condition in which the temperature of the body spikes due to the heat. The investigative information suggests the manner of death is homicide.

The father, Justin Ross Harris, is charged with murder and child cruelty.

Cooper died on June 18 after his father left him in his car for hours while he went to work at the Home Depot. The company officially terminated Harris from his job Thursday. He had been on unpaid leave since his arrest.
