Baton Rouge police arrested a couple after they say the two left their children to go gambling.

Lisa Wynn and Michael Jackson were arrested on July 6 and charged with child desertion.

Police responded to a call from the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino and Hotel that two juveniles were walking in the hallway. Hotel management attempted to contact their parents, but couldn’t find them.

The children were taken to the police station. According to the police reports, police were called back to the hotel about two hours later because the parents were looking for the children. After confirming they were the parents, police placed them under arrest and booked them into the parish prison.

The parents said they went outside to smoke, but police say they were told they were gambling. The children said they last saw their parents about 6:30 that evening before they fell asleep.
