Flesh-eating bacteria warning, travel forecast, cooking 4th of July faves

Good Friday morning to you and happy 4th of July! Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*Warm weather brings back a danger lurking in salt water. The state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries wants to remind fishermen about a flesh-eating bacteria. We'll hear from one person who was hospitalized after handling live crabs.

*July 4th is said to be the deadliest day on American roads. It's estimated that tens of millions of Americans will hit the road this weekend. We'll have safety advice you need to know before getting behind the wheel.

*The man questioned as a "person of interest" in last weekend's deadly mass shooting on Bourbon Street is out of jail this morning. Find out why he was released and what's next in this investigation.

*From Freedom Fest in Fort Polk to an old fashioned 4th of July celebration in DeRidder and Red, White, Blue & You in Lake Charles - we have a rundown of today's patriotic festivities.

*Wondering what to cook for your 4th of July party? I'll share my apple dumplin' recipe, Meteorologist Ben Terry is making Red, White & Blue bratwursts and our producer is serving up buffalo chicken dip in the Sunrise Kitchen!

Make it a Sunrise day!

A few scattered showers this afternoonA few scattered showers this afternoon

We will start today with partly cloudy skies, building up for scattered thunderstorms later this afternoon. Rain chances are up to 40% today, so we should not see as much rain as yesterday. Most of the rain will come to an end by the late afternoon. After sunset, rain chances will go back down to zero percent overnight with mostly clear skies. In between any showers, we will have warm temperatures for southwest Louisiana.
