Oberlin woman dies in single-vehicle crash

ALLEN PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A 72-year-old Oberlin woman died Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on La. 26, state police said.

Sgt. James Anderson, spokesman for Troop D, said Emily V. Adams was traveling west on La. 26 when her vehicle entered a curve and drifted off the roadway.

"Adams over corrected, crossed the center line and crashed into a ditch," Anderson said Monday in a news release. "She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen Parish Coroner’s Office."

Anderson said a routine toxicology sample was obtained for analysis and the crash remains under investigation.

This was the seventh fatal crash investigated by Troop D this year, Anderson said.
