Assessing the damage after Friday's flooding

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on today.

A day after the floods, residents are cleaning up the mess. We revisit some of the hardest hit areas to see the damage first hand.

Plus, we've seen some showers pop up today – but nothing compared to what we saw yesterday. Meteorologist Ben Terry is in tonight with a look at the forecast.

The Allen Parish Sheriff's Office was preparing for the worst when it comes to disasters. A mock drill this morning tested deputies on a meth lab explosion, a multi-car accident, and a hostage situation. KPLC's Erica Bivens was there as deputies put their skills to the test.

Also, we're in the middle of the busy summer boating season and authorities will tell you all too often alcohol is abused on the waterways. Today, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries conducted "Operation Dry Water" to target impaired boaters.

In Sports, he used to be a part of the McNeese coaching staff, but Grambling's new Head Football Coach Broderick Fobbs was back in town speaking on behalf of his new team.

We'll see you tonight at Six for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
