Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

We'll have an update on Monday's shooting of a Jennings police officer. Today, we're learning the name of the suspect, who State Police say admitted to shooting the officer. Look for that story at noon, and you can read more HERE.

Also today, a central Florida woman is facing serious charges after police say she was caught with a bag of marijuana – then ate the evidence! You can see it all on the cop car's camera at noon and HERE.

Plus, an animal clinic donates cooling gear to military dogs serving in Afghanistan. You can check it out HERE as well.

Speaking of helping animals, we'll also have the story of a cute little puppy who got a hubcap stuck around his neck. We'll tell you how some firefighters managed to get the thing off.

Ben tells me we will begin to see a little better chance of showers and storms today. Some of those could produce a brief heavy downpour and lightning. Will those rain chances increase as we go forward? Tune in at noon for Ben's live, local forecast for the answer. You can also get the latest weather conditions HERE.

Remember, if you're away from the TV at noon, you can always tune in to kplctv.com to watch us online and your mobile device.

Have a great day everyone!
