Services today for KPLC Weather Watcher Wanda Bailey

A graveside Service for Wanda Lee Bailey, 74, of Sugartown, Louisiana will be held at
10:30 AM Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Sugartown Cemetery under the direction of
Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.  

Mrs. Bailey passed from this life on Sunday, June 22,2014, in Alexandria.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Sugartown Cemetery, 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Wanda was born on Wednesday, November 8, 1939, in Kinder. She lived in Sugartown for the past 25 years. She was a newspaper deliverer for the Beauregard Daily News and she was the KPLC Weather Watcher representing Sugartown for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Allen James Bailey of Sugartown; 2 sons,
Mack Wayne Sliman of Pine Prairie, LA and Fredrick Charles Sliman of
DeRidder, LA; 1 daughter, Ramona Austin of Beaumont, TX; 2 grandchildren, Kayla Rose Simmons and Fallon Elizabeth Sliman.

    Bolton Ford held its third annual car and truck show benefiting the Give A Wish foundation on Saturday. Give A Wish announced they would be sending Kenzie Noelle Johnson to Disney World. They also gave Johnson her own set of wheels: a fun-size pink Ford Mustang. Paula Livingston, the director of Give A Wish, said it takes thousands of dollars for the organization to make dreams a reality.

    On Friday Mayor Randy Roach helped pull out history - 50 years worth, to be exact.

    In 1967 a time capsule was buried in front of historic Lake Charles City Hall, and many had different ideas of what could be buried inside.
