Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

A former Jennings police chief is sentenced to five years at hard labor with credit for time served. Fifty-three-year-old Johnny Lassiter was sentenced for allegedly taking drugs and money from an evidence room. We'll have the whole story at noon, and you can read more HERE.

A big honor for SOWELA today. The college has been granted accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. We'll explain what that all means and you can check out the announcement HERE.
