Various Calcasieu Parish Public library locations have announced the following programs for June 22-28:

 

Programs for adults:

Carnegie Memorial Library, 411 Pujo St., 721-7084

Shake It Up, Milkshakes:  10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 26.  Adults will work together to measure and create a few great shakes.  Registration is required.

Central Library, 301 W. Claude Street, 721-7116

Friends of the Library-Calcasieu Book Sale:  3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22. The Friends of the Library-Calcasieu will have books for sale until 5:00 p.m.

Friends of the Library-Calcasieu Book Sale:  10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June24.  The Friends of the Library-Calcasieu will have books for sale until 12:00 p.m.

Internet: Beyond Basics:  1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 24.  Adults who would like to expand their knowledge of online searching and safety will cover topics ranging from browser history to RSS feeds.  Registration is required.

3D Printing 101:  4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26.  Adults will earn all about using the 3D printer at the library.  Registration is required.

Friends of the Library-Calcasieu Book Sale:  4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26. The Friends of the Library-Calcasieu will have books for sale until 6:00 p.m.

3D Thursdays:  5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26.  Visit the Central Library Innovation Studio every Thursday from 5-7 to learn all about 3D printing and design.

Sewing Project Part One:  6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26.  Adults will start a new sewing project and will conclude on July 10.  Registration is required.

Coffee and History:  9:30 a.m., Monday, June 23.  Patrons in the community will share photos and articles of history about the surrounding area.

First Ladies Tea:  10:00 a.m., Monday, June 23.  Barbara Bodin will entertain adults with stories of the customs, recipes, and teas that were hosted by several First Ladies.  Teas and goodies will be served.

Homemade Ice Cream in a Can:  10:00 a.m., Monday, June 23.  Adults will use everyday items and ingredients to make homemade ice cream.  Registration is required.

Spy Science:  2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25.  Teens will learn about finger prints, make plaster footprints, and much more!  Registration is required.

High Heel Races and Jelly Bean Day:  2:00 p.m., Friday, June 27.  Teens will enjoy candy, races, and games!  Registration is required.

Artistic Expression:  3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26.  Teens will participate in a book talk and create a craft using duct tape.  Registration is required.

Food Science:  1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25.  Teens will learn the science of baking with yeast and how to make butter from scratch.  Registration is required.

Science Experiments with STEM:  2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25.  Teens will create slime, watch a volcano erupt, and help with other experiments.
