E.TX student shot in face graduates with classmates

Henry Milligan Henry Milligan
TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

An E. Texas teenager injured in a tragic gun accident walked down the aisle to accept his high school diploma Saturday.

Henry Milligan wasn't sure he'd be able to make it back to Texarkana Texas High School for his graduation ceremony after a gunshot wound to his face left him laid up in a Shreveport hospital for five weeks.

Milligan accidentally shot himself in the face early in May while cleaning his gun. He was temporarily released from University Health Shreveport last week. While there he underwent multiple surgeries to reconstruct his face.

One of the high school senior's goals during recovery was to be able to attend his commencement ceremony with his friends, many of whom have supported him through his healing.

Some of those same classmates opened an account to help Milligan's family make it through with mounting medical bills to pay.

Donations can be made at Regions Bank under "Benefit for Henry Milligan." They can also be made online at giveforward.com under Hope for Henry.
