GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Jefferson Davis County Sheriff's Department confirms they received a report that a suspect they are looking for may be on the coast.

Authorities say they got a tip that Hilton Ross Jr. was spotted in Gulfport Friday night.

On Monday, officials say Ross chased his ex-girlfriend down a highway after she picked up her child and allegedly crashed into her vehicle, firing a gun at her car, and pistol whipping her. He then reportedly fled into the woods.

Gulfport police confirm they got a call shortly after midnight that someone claimed to have spotted Ross at the Island View Casino. Officers were dispatched to the casino, but could not find the suspect or a vehicle.

Jefferson Davis County authorities say Hilton Ross Jr. is considered armed and dangerous and they say if you spot him, you should call your local law enforcement agency immediately.
